Father's Day in the city of Rivne
On June 19, the «Christ is the Answer» church in the city of Rivne held a holiday on the occasion of Father’s Day.
In the city center, the organizers installed three inflatable slides and two trampolines. From nearby tents, volunteers distributed cotton candy, popcorn, water and christian literature. The church prepared a Bible lesson and contests for the guests, in which both parents and children took part.
Several banners with passages from the Bible and statements about the family decorated the central square of the city. The quotes: «Children, respect your parents», «A true father loves his family», «A true father prays for his children» reminded everyone of their duties to the family.
Pastor Taras Sen addressed the audience with a brief speech: he noted the need to spend time with children and actually show love for relatives; he told why God Himself is the best example of a father.
«As a father of five children, I will say that today we have saved a considerable part of the family budget. My kids had fun, rode on the slides, ate popcorn and cotton wool in unlimited quantities. This is amazing in our reality.» – Taras Kharchuk, a visitor of the holiday.
Hundreds of residents of the city came to the holiday. The guests were especially grateful for the free trampolines, because in entertainment centers 10 minutes of pleasure cost 30-50 UAH. Happy children approached the volunteers to thank them and find out when the next holiday is going to take place. A few days later, the ministers received phone calls from parents whose children shared their emotions at home.

The purpose of the church is to spread family values, strengthen the institution of fatherhood and do good by all available methods. It is not the first time that the community «Christ is the Answer» holds children’s holidays. Last week, the ministers participated in a school camp in Gorodyshche, and in the coming days they plan to visit the Rivne school and the celebration of the 45th anniversary of the City Palace of Culture «Tekstylnyk».

All areas of service of the community are carried out through voluntary donations of caring people. The most important thing is not the size of the donation, but the attitude and condition of the heart. God sees our needs and seeks to deprive us of our worries. He also wants to see the love and sacrifice of our grateful hearts. «Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver!» (2 Cor. 9:7).
