International Family Day in Kostopil
On May 15, local residents celebrated the International Family Day on the main square of Kostopil. The organizers are the movement «All Together for the Family», representatives of the Kostopil City Council and ministers of the church «Word of Life».
Hundreds of parents with children came to the central square of the city to spend their leisure time together, standing up for family values.
«Today we have a great time when Christians can help organize such events in our city. I am sure that in the future, the churches will work with the city council to ensure that family holidays are held again and again. Married couples need special support, and if it was impossible before, now it has become real» – Davyd Didukh, Secretary of the Kostopil City Council.
On this day, many families took a break from everyday affairs, spent time with their relatives and friends. Children were waiting for sports games, win-win lotteries, a needlework circle, a drawing contest, as well as trampolines and inflatable slides, which the «Christ is the Answer» mission provided to the organizers of the holiday. For married couples, a motorcycle rally and an atmospheric evening were held, where they talked about the true values of the family. Husbands and wives could spend time without children, fully enjoying the romantic atmosphere. The purpose of the event was one: to convey to people that thanks to the family, the country is growing stronger and developing, and the welfare of the people is growing.
The Kostopil Children’s School of Arts and the House of Schoolchildren and Youth joined the celebration-the students of the institutions entertained the guests with their performances. The event was also attended by the Rivne Christian brass band, the children’s ensemble «Notki» from the city of Lutsk and the christian group «Choice Band». During the day, everyone could have a snack: local chefs treated them to potatoes, sausages, and tea and coffee with sweets significantly improved the mood of the guests.
«I dreamed that such holidays would take place in Kostopil, where I was born and live. I know many stories about unhappy children who suffered because their parents broke up their marriage and left them. Therefore, today in our city we do everything to ensure that families are strong and healthy, and children are brought up by both parents» – Andrii Matviichuk, minister of the «Word of Life» church.
About 2,500 residents of the city were able to have a great time. Such holidays once again remind of the relevance of the family, the importance of fatherhood, motherhood and a happy childhood, where there is a mother and father who raise their child in love and care. It was on such an important note that the Family Day ended, which will now become a tradition for the city.

All areas of service of the community are carried out through voluntary donations of caring people. The most important thing is not the size of the donation, but the attitude and condition of the heart. God sees our needs and seeks to deprive us of our worries. He also wants to see the love and sacrifice of our grateful hearts. «Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver!» (2 Cor. 9:7).
