Helping people see the love of Jesus Christ
With the arrival in Rivne region, Pastor Taras Sen founded the tradition of conducting free ophthalmological clinics for pensioners and state employees. Anyone who needs an ophthalmologist's consultation can be examined free of charge by a doctor and get the glasses as a present. In one day, the doctor checks the vision of 50-60 patients. Waiting for their turn, people are treated with tea, listen to testimonies from the life of ministers, read christian literature and take newspapers, calendars, booklets. After a professional consultation with an ophthalmologist, local people get free eyeglasses. The opening of eye clinics and regular charity events are one of the main activities of the mission. Since January 2016, the brothers and sisters of the church have conducted more than 60 vision clinics, about forty of them in Rivne. The equipment for missionaries and volunteers of the mission "Christ is the answer" in 7 regions – Rivne, Luhansk, Mykolaiv, Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk, Sumy and Kharkiv – was purchased. Ministers of the church want to pass on the experience of eye clinics for their further development in different regions. In different areas missionaries and volunteers of the mission find an experienced ophthalmologist. Pensioners, teachers, students, ATO participants - over 3500 residents of Rivne got an opportunity to consult their physician free of charge and learn about the condition of their eyesight. All areas of service of the community are carried out through voluntary donations of caring people. The most important thing is not the size of the donation, but the attitude and condition of the heart. God sees our needs and seeks to deprive us of our worries. He also wants to see the love and sacrifice of our grateful hearts. «Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver!» (2 Cor. 9:7).
